A man has been left injured after being seriously assaulted while walking through a path in South Lanarkshire.
The 23-year-old was on Stratford, near to Salisbury, in East Kilbride’s Calderwood area at around 11.30pm on Saturday when he was attacked by another man.
Emergency services were called and the victim was taken to Hairmyres Hospital where he was treated for a head injury before being released.
Police are now appealing for information as they look to trace the man responsible.
The suspect is described as white, in his early 20s, with short, dark-coloured hair.
At the time of the incident he was wearing a red top.
He was last seen heading in the direction of Neville with two other people.
Detective Constable Ashley Hind, of Lanarkshire CID, said: “We have been carrying out enquiries into this incident, including viewing local CCTV footage to gather more information.
“I am now appealing for the assistance of the public and would urge anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have seen the suspect in the area around the time of the incident to contact police.”
