A man has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after suffering a series of stab wounds in a daylight attack on a Glasgow street.

Emergency crews were called following reports of the incident involving the 39-year-old in the Scotstoun area of the city at around 2.30pm on Wednesday, July 13.

Officers cordoned off part of Henrietta Street during an initial probe into the assault and have since appealed for witnesses to come forward.

The victim was later taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for further treatment.

His condition is described as serious, but not life-threatening.

Detective Constable William Birse of Drumchapel Police Station said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and I would urge anyone who may have any information to come forward.

“We would be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam or any other private footage from the area.

“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 1981 of July 13, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
