Man fighting for life in hospital after serious crash near farm

A man has sustained serious leg, arm and head injuries after a crash in North Ayrshire.

Police were called to the scene on the B714 in Dalry on Sunday after the crash, which involved one vehicle.

The 47-year-old driver of the black Suzuki Swift was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after the incident which occurred around 7.25pm.

The man’s condition is currently described as critical after sustaining serious leg, arm and head injuries in the collision.

The road, around 600m south of Craighead Farm, was closed while emergency services carried out investigations at the sight and reopened around 3.30am on Monday.

Sergeant Gordon Stewart said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I am appealing to anyone who saw the vehicle before the crash or saw what happened to get in touch.

“In particular if you have dash-cam that could insist our investigation then please contact us on 101, quoting incident number 2800 of Sunday, December 4.”
