A man has appeared in court charged with murder after a shooting in North Ayrshire.
James Ferguson, 42, has been charged with murder and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
On Sunday, Paul Cairns, 42, was injured at a house in Nithsdale Road, Ardrossan, at about 4.50pm. He died at the scene.
Ferguson was arrested on Monday and appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
Ferguson, of Kilwinning, made no plea and was remanded in custody.
He is expected to appear at court again within the next eight days.
