A man has died on a busy city centre street in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to the scene on St Vincent Street at around 7.40am on Tuesday, January 30, after reports of man with serious injuries.

Police confirmed a 69-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

St Vincent Street between Wellington Street and West Campbell Street was closed to all traffic but has now reopened down to one lane.

Emergency services remain on the scene.

Police said there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances around the man’s death.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of concern for a man on St Vincent Street in Glasgow shortly after 7.40am on Tuesday, January 30.

“The 69-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

“However, there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.”

A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 07:40 to attend an incident on St Vincent Street, Glasgow.

“One ambulance was dispatched to the scene.”
