A man has died after his boat overturned in an Ayrshire fishing loch.
The 21-year-old was on Snipe Loch, near the village of Coylton, when the incident took place on Sunday night.
Two helicopters and a number of fire engines, ambulances and police vehicles attended the scene after receiving reports from worried locals just after 6pm.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue boat was seen scanning the fishing loch – about five miles from Ayr on the B742.
However, police confirmed that the man couldn’t be saved.
A spokeswoman for the force said: “A 21 year-old man has died after a boat overturned on Snipe Loch, near Coylton around 6.05pm on Sunday.
“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a full report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.”
