Man dies after being stabbed in daylight street attack

A 48-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene on Sunday afternoon.

A man has died after being stabbed on a North Lanarkshire street.

The incident took place on Airdrie High Street at around 4.40pm on Sunday.

Emergency services attended and the 48-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are now investigating.

Detective Inspector John Lewis, of Lanarkshire CID, said: “Police were called around 4.40pm on Sunday, following reports of a disturbance on High Street, Airdrie.

“A 48-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.”

“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
