A man has been charged with murder over the death of a 35-year-old in Greenock.
Lewis Wiggins, also of Greenock, entered no plea as he was charged with murder, attempted murder and an attempt to defeat the ends of justice.
The 22-year-old will be committed for further examination and remanded in custody.
His next appearance will be within eight days.
Wiggins is the second man to be charged over the death of Michael Beaton who was found with serious injuries on Drumfrochar Road at around 7.20pm on Sunday, November 26.
He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he died a few hours later.
Earlier this month, police announced that a 25-year-old man had been arrested and charged in connection with Beaton’s death.
He appeared at Paisley Sheriff Court on December 4.
