Man charged and set to appear in court after serious assault

A 36-year-old man was seriously assaulted on Friday afternoon and was rushed to hospital.

A man has been arrested and charged following a serious assault in Dumbarton.

The incident occurred on Garshake Road near the A82 junction in the town around 3pm on Friday.

A 36-year-old man suffered serious injuries and was rushed to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley by ambulance.

Police confirmed on Tuesday that a 43-year-old man has now been arrested and charged in connection to the incident.

He has been released on an undertaking to appear before Dumbarton Sheriff Court at a later date.
