Man charged amid murder probe after 33-year-old found dead on Auchinloch Street in Springburn

A man has been charged in connection with the death of a 33-year-old who was found injured on a street in Springburn.

Police were made aware of concerns for two men who were injured in the Auchinloch Street area around 5.25am on Friday, April 14.

Thomas Bowers, from Glasgow, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 52-year-old man suffered serious injuries in the same incident and was taken to hospital for treatment. His current condition is unknown.

A murder investigation was launched following the incident, led by officers from Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team.

Officers confirmed on Wednesday that a 22-year-old man had been arrested and subsequently charged in connection with Mr Bowers’ death.

He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday, April 20.

A spokesperson said: “A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of Thomas Bowers at Auchinloch Street in Glasgow on Friday, April 14.

“A 52-year-old man was seriously injured in the same incident.

“Enquiries remain ongoing.”
