A man is due to appear in court on Thursday after a suspicious package was discovered on a street in South Lanarkshire.

Officers were called to investigate at Mansion Court in Cambuslang at around 9.20pm on November 15 after a package was discovered.

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal team (EOD) were called to the scene.

A 42-year-old man was charged in connection with the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.20pm on Tuesday, November 15, officers were called to Mansion Court, Cambuslang, where a suspicious package was discovered.

“EOD attended and made the item safe before removing it for examination.

“A 42-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday, November 17.”
