A man has been charged following the theft of £50,000 worth of whisky in Lanarkshire.

Police confirmed the 37-year-old man had been charged in connection with the theft in Motherwell on Wednesday.

The alcohol has been valued at £50,000 and was stolen earlier this month from a warehouse in Eurocentral.

A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

The man is due to appear before Hamilton Sheriff Court.
