A 35-year-old man was attacked by a gang of male youngsters near the Amran Tandoori in Cambuslang.

A man has suffered a facial injury after being attacked by a gang of youngsters armed with baseball bats.

The incident occurred on Sunday evening around 9.30pm in Cambuslang on the grassy area near to Amran Tandoori on Hamilton Road.

A 35-year-old man was attacked by a gang of male youngsters who jumped over a fence and proceeded to attack him with baseball bats.

The attack continued from the grassy area towards Clyde Place, before the youths made off back along Hamilton Road.

The victim was later taken to Hairmyres Hospital for treatment to a facial injury.

The youngsters who attacked the man are described as being between 13 to 16 years old and there was thought to have been three to four youths involved in the attack.

They are described as wearing dark clothing which covered some of their faces.

Detective Constable Lynn Livesey from Cambuslang CID said: “This assault seems to have been completely unprovoked and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed what happened to come forward.

“In particular, I am looking to speak to anyone who saw this group of youths in the area, or anyone with private CCTV or dash-cam footage which could assist with our enquiries.
