A man has been arrested in connection with the death of Peter Kirkwood in South Lanarkshire.
Police locked down Mousebank Road in Lanark following the 24-year-old’s death in the early hours of Saturday morning during a disturbance.
A 22-year-old man was arrested shortly afterwards but was later released amid a murder probe.
Officers have now confirmed a 44-year-old man has been arrested, though no one has yet been charged over the killing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said enquiries were ongoing.
A statement from the force read: “A 44-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of 24-year-old Peter Kirkwood in Mousebank Road, Lanark on Saturday, July 16.
“Police enquiries are continuing.”
