Man charged over two fires 'deliberately set' near buildings

A man has been charged in connection with two fires in East Ayrshire.

Emergency services were called to reports of a blaze at a property on King Street in Kilmarnock around 7.55pm on Friday May 20.

Police were then made aware of another fire outside a building on Sandbed Lane in the town at 10.55pm. 

On Friday, police confirmed a 60-year-old man had been arrested and charged in connection with the blazes.

The man is due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Friday.
