Man arrested after ‘high value theft’ from newly-opened Rangers Store in AyrSNS Group

A man has been arrested in connection with a break-in and theft at an official Rangers club shop in Ayrshire.

The 36-year-old is accused of a “high-value” theft from the Ibrox side’s outlet in Ayr in the early hours of Thursday, November 24.

The store had only opened to the public five days prior to the break in after more than a decade away from the town.

Officers confirmed the man had been arrested on Monday afternoon.

They added he was set to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court later in the day.

A statement read: “A 36-year-old male has been arrested following an enquiry into a high-value theft by housebreaking at Rangers Store, High Street, Ayr.

“The male has been held in custody and will appear at Ayr Sheriff Court later today.”
