A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Port Glasgow man Jack Trainner.

The 27-year-old was pronounced dead on Brookfield Road at around 9.05pm on April 27 after being found seriously injured.

Lewis Mullen, 23, from Port Glasgow, made no plea and was remanded in custody when he appeared at Greenock Sheriff Court on Friday.

Mullen is to appear in court again within the next eight days.
