A man has appeared in court accused of a murder on Easter Sunday.
Gerard McGinlay, 38, appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court charged with murdering a man in Airdrie, North Lanarkshire.
The 48-year-old was pronounced dead after police were called to High Street in the town on Sunday afternoon.
McGinlay, who court documents state is homeless, was also charged with possessing an offensive weapon.
He made no plea at the brief hearing and was remanded in custody pending a further court appearance.
