A man and a woman have been taken to hospital after a crash in North Ayrshire.

The collision, involving two vehicles, happened on the A737 at Beith at around 2pm on Sunday.

Emergency services were called, and the man was taken to Crosshouse Hospital, while the woman was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Their conditions are currently unknown.

Officers said enquiries into the crash remain ongoing as they remain at the scene.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to a report of a two-vehicle crash on the A737 at Beith around 2pm on Sunday April 24, 2022.

“A man has been taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock and a woman has been taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

“Officers are still at the scene and enquiries are continuing.”
