A man has appeared in court charged with murdering his mother.
Trevor Kidd, 42, is accused of attacking Maureen Ann Kidd at her home in Kirkcaldy, Fife on March 19 this year.
It is claimed he repeatedly struck the 74-year-old on the body with knives.
The charge further alleges Kidd inflicted blunt force trauma to her head “by means unknown”.
Kidd appeared via video link for a short hearing at the High Court in Glasgow on Thursday.
No plea was entered.
Both his QC Donald Findlay and prosecutor Michael Meehan QC agreed a further hearing should be fixed.
The case is due to call again in September.
