A major search is underway for a missing 13-year-old boy from East Renfrewshire who has not been seen in two days.

Adam Phimister was last seen at his home in Newton Mearns at around 9.30pm on Wednesday and has not been in touch with any known friends or family since.

Police say concern over his welfare is growing as they appeal for the public’s help in tracing him.

The schoolboy, who is known to frequent the Neilston, Clarkston and Thornliebank areas, is described as being around 5ft8 with a slim build and short brown hair

Sergeant Thomas Turner said: “We are becoming increasingly concerned for his safety as he is only 13. We want to trace him as soon as possible to ensure that he is safe and well.

“He is known to frequent the Neilston, Clarkston, Thornliebank and Paisley areas and searches and enquiries are ongoing to trace him.

“I would ask anyone who has seen Adam, or who has any information regarding his whereabouts to contact officers through 101.”
