The M8 westbound is closed during Tuesday morning rush hour after a vehicle burst into flames.
Emergency services were alerted at around 3.05am to the blaze near the Glasgow Airport Interchange Junction 28.
A spokesperson for Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed two appliances were dispatched to the scene.
Police Scotland is also in attendance with smoke from the fire affecting the carriageway.
Traffic Scotland confirmed the M8 was closed westbound from junctions J28a to J29a and advised drivers to use alternative routes.
Drivers have been warned to expect delays of up to 25 minutes.
