Lorry worker injured after becoming 'trapped by vehicle' outside museum

A lorry worker has been taken to hospital after becoming “trapped by a vehicle” outside a museum in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to Pointhouse Place, near the Riverside Museum, at around 9.35am on Monday.

The man was freed by the Scottish Fire and Rescue service and was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

His condition is currently unknown.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to reports of a lorry worker becoming injured on Pointhouse Place, Glasgow at around 9.35am on Monday, June 6, 2022.

“Emergency services attended and the worker was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.”

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 8.54am on Monday, June 6 to assist at an incident at Pointhouse Place, Glasgow.

“Operations Control mobilised three appliances to the scene.

“One male casualty trapped by a vehicle was released and handed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service. 

“Firefighters made the area safe before leaving the location.”
