A lollipop lady has been hit by a vehicle while working on the last day of school before Christmas in South Lanarkshire.
The incident happened while the council employee was working on a children’s crossing on Uddingston Road, Bothwell, on Wednesday afternoon.
Nearby Bothwell Primary School closed at 2.30pm for the Christmas holidays.
Emergency services were called to the scene following reports that a woman had been struck by a vehicle.
Police said Scottish Ambulance Service personnel assessed the lollipop lady.
Her condition is not currently known.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.30pm, police received a report of a woman being struck by a vehicle in Uddingston Road, Bothwell.
“Emergency services attended and the woman was being assessed by SAS (Scottish Ambulance Service) at the scene.”
