Jewellery, a BMW car and designer items have been stolen from two homes less than two weeks apart in South Lanarkshire.

The first incident occurred at a property in River View, Lanark, around 2.50pm on March 29.

Three men broke into the house and stole various jewellery and designer goods, before leaving in a small white hatchback-style car towards Carstairs.

The second break-in happened at a property on Station Road, Biggar, sometime between 11.30pm on April 9, and 1.30am on April 10.

Two men broke into the house and stole items including jewellery and a blue BMW car, and drove off in a white hatchback-style car towards Biggar Main Street.

The blue BMW was recovered in the Penicuik area of Midlothian a short time later.

Detective Constable Sarah Wardlaw of CID said: “Enquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible for both incidents.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen a small white hatchback-style vehicle around the time of the incidents.

“I would appeal to motorists with dash-cam footage to get in touch, you may have captured something that could assist our enquiries.”
