An investigation has been launched after the body of a young woman was found in a wooded area in South Lanarkshire.
Emergency services were alerted to the body near to Cadzow Glen, Hamilton, on Sunday morning.
On Monday, a force spokesperson said formal identification is still to take place and enquiries are ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.15am on Sunday, November 28, the body of a young female was found in the wooded area near to Cadzow Glen, Hamilton.
“Formal identification is still to take place and enquiries are ongoing.”
On Monday afternoon, South Lanarkshire Council warned that Cadzow Street, between Leechlee Road and Auchingramont Road, remains “temporarily closed”.
Posting on Twitter, the local authority said: “Drivers and pedestrians are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes where possible.
“Thank you for your cooperation and assistance in this matter.”
