Two men have been charged following a “disturbance” in Glasgow city centre.
Emergency services were called to Renfield Street at around 4.55pm on Monday.
Two men, aged 27 and 65, were taken to separate hospitals in the city for treatment to serious injuries.
The street remains closed between Renfrew Street and Bath Street for investigation works.
On Tuesday, Police Scotland said both men had been arrested.
The 27-year-old has been charged with serious assault. The 65-year-old has been charged with attempted murder.
A force spokesperson said: “Police were called around 4.55pm on Monday, March 29, following the report of a disturbance on Renfield Street, Glasgow.
“Officers attended and a 65-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with attempted murder.
“A 27-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a serious assault.
“Both men were taken to hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
“The 65-year-old man is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Tuesday, March 30, and the 27-year-old will appear at a later date.”
