A photo of a murder victim found dead in a Glasgow flat has been released after an investigation was launched, with police urging anyone who may have seen or heard anything to get in touch.

The body of Valerijs Litvins, 45, was discovered in a property on Burgher Street in Parkhead at around 11.15pm on Sunday, March 7.

Following a post-mortem examination, his death is now being treated as murder. Mr Litvins’ family has been made aware.

Police Scotland has set up an online portal for members of the public to submit information, videos or images that could help officers with the investigation.

Detective chief inspector Gillian Grant, of Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team, said: “Officers have been in the area carrying out enquiries, checking CCTV and speaking to local residents in an effort to establish the circumstances surrounding his death.

“However, we are still keen to hear from anyone who may have information that would assist our investigation.

“We would be interested to hear from anyone who may have dashcam footage from the street, or anyone who may have heard a disturbance in the area that night to contact us.”
