A man has appeared in court accused of murdering Emma Caldwell.
Iain Packer, 49, allegedly assaulted the 27-year-old in 2005.
Emma was reported missing in April 2005 before her body was found in woodland near Biggar, South Lanarkshire, a month later.
Packer made no plea to the murder charge at a private hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court through his advocate John Brannigan.
Packer is also accused of numerous further charges, which include 11 charges of rape, and other charges for sexual assault and abduction against a number of women.
He was remanded in custody pending further examination by sheriff Mark McGuire.
Packer, of Airdrie, North Lanarkshire, will appear in court again within the next eight days.
