Hunt for youths after pensioner, 86, pelted with eggs

Police said the elderly woman was left 'shaken' after the attack in Netherton, Wishaw.

A pensioner has been left “shaken” after being pelted with eggs by a gang of youths.

The 86-year-old woman was in the Netherton area of Wishaw, North Lanarkshire, when the assault took place at around 7.10pm on Sunday.

Police are now appealing for witnesses as they look to trace those responsible.

A force spokesperson said: “She was left shaken by the incident.

“Anyone with any further information is asked to contact 101.”
