A man chased off intruders after returning home to find three men robbing his house.

The 40-year-old householder was assaulted during the incident in Glasgow’s Croftcroighn Drive at around 5pm on Thursday.

He was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Detectives said a four-figure sum of money was stolen during the housebreaking.

Detective sergeant Neil Guy, from Govan CID, said: “This was a particularly distressing incident for the victim, and we can only be thankful that he was not seriously injured during the incident.

“We are appealing for any witnesses or local residents with private CCTV or possible dashcam footage to please come forward.”

The men, who were wearing dark clothing with their faces covered, made off in a small white vehicle.

Investigating officers are currently carrying out high-visibility patrols in the area, alongside extensive enquiries to track down those responsible.

DS Guy added: “We are also keen to hear from anyone who believes they may have seen any suspicious vehicles in the local area prior to the incident, in particular a small white vehicle making off at speed.”
