Police are on the hunt for a Vauxhall Corsa driver after a 13-year-old boy was seriously injured in a hit-and-run in South Lanarkshire.
The teen was struck on Bothwell’s Main Street, near to the Co-op store, at around 2.30pm on Monday.
He was taken to University Hospital Wishaw with serious injuries, where he remains in a stable condition.
Investigating officers have issued a fresh appeal, stating they are now looking for the driver of a grey five-door Corsa.
Police believe the vehicle sustained damage to the front passenger headlight.
Sergeant Andy Shearer said: “We are keen to trace the driver of the vehicle involved in this incident as soon as possible.
“I am appealing to anyone who might have information, dashcam footage or knowledge of a damaged grey Vauxhall Corsa to get in touch as soon as possible.
“To the driver, I am also making a direct appeal, do the right thing and come forward.”
