A glass bottle was thrown at a Celtic player and other objects launched into the dugout during Sunday’s Old Firm match at Ibrox.
The bottle was hurled at Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley as he celebrated scoring a penalty in front of the Copland Road Stand.
A spokesperson for Celtic FC condemned the “repeated targeting” of players calling the behaviour “completely unacceptable”.
The club said they have raised their concerns with Rangers adding that police were investigating the matter.
Police Scotland confirmed enquiries into the incident were “ongoing”.
Other missiles were thrown into the away dugout during the dramatic match that saw the rivals draw 3-3.
Police Scotland said one man was struck but did not require medical treatment.
A Celtic spokesperson said: “It has been confirmed today that a glass bottle was thrown at Matt at yesterday’s match.
“The repeated targeting of our players and staff with missiles is quite appalling and completely unacceptable.
“We have already raised our serious concerns with Rangers and understand that police are investigating the matter.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We are aware of an object being thrown at Ibrox Stadium, Glasgow during the Rangers v Celtic match on Sunday, April 7, 2024.
“One man was struck but did not require treatment and enquiries are ongoing.”
