Glasgow and Edinburgh train services were left delayed on Sunday afternoon after a “disturbance”.

ScotRail said travellers on board a train at Livingston South caused a disturbance, leaving services between Glasgow Central and Edinburgh disrupted at around 1.55pm.

It is unknown at this stage the circumstances behind the disturbance.

The train operator said services returned to normal at around 3pm.

A spokesperson for ScotRail said: “Disruption caused by passengers causing a disturbance on a train earlier today at Livingston South has now ended.
