A man repeatedly shot a schoolboy on a bike with an air rifle.
Stephen Grey, 25, fired the pellets at the 14-year-old boy outside his then-home in Glasgow’s Springburn on August 13, 2020.
The city’s Sheriff Court heard that the victim and two other boys were speaking in the garden.
Two of the boys cycled away after a short period of time.
Prosecutor Katie Bell said: “One of the boys felt something painful on his left leg.
“He looked back to see Grey resting what looked like an air rifle on the hedge of the property.
“Grey continued to shoot an array of pellets three of which hit the boy on the back causing bruising.”
The gun was later found to be an air support weapon which fires pellets.
The boy met a family member around the corner who reported the matter to his mother.
She and another man confronted Grey who then called the police to admit what he did.
Officers attended and arrested Grey as well as retrieved the weapon.
Fortunately, the boy did not require medical treatment.
Grey pled guilty to assaulting the boy to his injury.
Sentence was deferred pending background reports until next month by Sheriff Barry Divers.
Grey, now of the city’s Govan, had his bail continued in the meantime.
