A major city centre road in Glasgow was disrupted after a four-vehicle crash on Friday afternoon.

The Broomielaw was reduced to one lane in each direction between York Street and Oswald Street near King George V Bridge at around 1.45pm.

Glasgow City Council’s Traffic Control warned road users to avoid this area if possible and said delays should be expected.

The Broomielaw connects the areas east and west of Glasgow’s city centre running parallel to the River Clyde.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Emergency services are currently in attendance in the Broomielaw area of Glasgow, following a report of a four-vehicle road crash, which took place around 1.45pm.”
