Ford Transit owners are being warned to keep an eye on their vans following an increase of thefts in the Renfrewshire area over the past few weeks.
Police have yet to work out how the thieves are gaining access and stealing the vehicles.
Those with a Ford Transit are being advised to lock and secure their van and remove all valuables whenever possible.
Community policing inspector Tracy Harkins added: “It is also beneficial to have additional safety measures in place to prevent the vehicle from being stolen.
“If your vehicle is not fitted with an immobiliser/alarm, then a good old fashioned crook lock or wheel clamp would act as a deterrent.
“Such a device is not infallible, however, it could make the vehicle a less attractive option to an opportunist thief.”
