A man who indecently exposed himself to a woman was forced to run away when his victim confronted him.

The flasher struck along Townhead Road in Helensburgh, Argyll and Bute, between 8.20pm and 8.30pm on Thursday.

After making a comment, the 36-year-old woman challenged him. The suspect then ran off.

Police said the woman was left “badly shaken” by the incident.

The man, who was described as slim with dark brown hair, spoke with a local accent and was around 5ft 10in.

He had patchy facial hair and was wearing a navy blue jacket with a white hoodie underneath.

Investigating officers have been reviewing nearby CCTV footage and are appealing for witnesses to get in touch.

Detective constable David Jamieson said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident to contact us.

“Perhaps you saw the man when he was running off after the incident.

“I would also ask motorists with dashcams who were in the area to check their dashcams as they may have captured images which could assist our investigation.”
