Firefighters extinguish large grass blaze in Ayrshire

No reports of any casualties after four fire engines were dispatched to Straiton in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Firefighters have tackled a large grass fire in South Ayrshire.

Four fire engines went to the scene in Straiton when the alarm was raised at 4.39am on Tuesday.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said the blaze covered around one mile.

Fire crews extinguished the blaze and left the scene at 9.17am.

There were no reports of any casualties.
