An urgent search has been launched for a woman who disappeared on Monday afternoon.
Laura Wilkie’s family are worried for her after she was last seen at around 3pm on December 18, in the Alloway area of Ayr.
Police describe the missing 43-year-old as around 5ft 4 inches in height with a slim build and very short hair.
Ms Wilkie was last seen wearing black leggings, a black jacket with a fur hood and black footwear.
Police Scotland said that “extensive” enquiries to locate her are under way but have asked anyone with information of Ms Wilkie’s whereabouts to come forward.
Police said that her family is “understandably worried and just want to know she is safe and well”.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “If anyone has seen Laura or has any information as to where she might be, please contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 1370 of December 19, 2023.”
