A housing estate in Glasgow has been locked down after an incident left a man seriously injured.

Emergency services were called to Barony Drive, in the Baillieston area of the city, shortly after midnight on Saturday.

A 31-year-old man was found with severe injuries.

He was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, before being transferred to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he remains for treatment.

A car splattered with what appears to be blood was seen outside a property on Barony Drive which remains under an extended police cordon.

Officers said inquiries continue to determine what happened to the man.

A police spokesperson said: “About 12.10am on Saturday, January 15, 2022, officers were called to Barony Drive, Glasgow after a 31-year-old man was found with serious injuries.

“Emergency services attended and the man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, before being transferred to Glasgow Royal Infirmary, where he is being treated.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish how this man came about his injuries and anyone with any information is asked to contact police via 101, quoting incident number 0014 of Saturday, January 15, 2022.”
