Driver flown to hospital after pick-up truck hits wall

The 42-year-old man was driving alone with the single-vehicle crash happened in Dumfries and Galloway.

A driver has been flown to hospital after his pick-up truck smashed into a wall.

The 42-year-old man was alone when his white Nissan Navara left the road on the B729 Dumfries to Carsphairn stretch near Dunscore around 10.20am on Monday.

He was airlifted to hospital in Glasgow, where he is being treated for serious injuries.

Police said no other vehicles were involved as they issued an appeal for witnesses.

Sergeant Leigh McCulloch, of Dumfries and Galloway Road Policing, said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances which led to this crash and I would ask anyone who may be able to help to come forward.

“Anyone who was on the road around the time of the crash or who may have dashcam footage is urged to get in touch with us as soon as they can.

“Anyone with information can contact police on 101, quoting incident 0903 of May 25.”
