A dog has died and two people, including a child, are in hospital after a flat fire in the west of Glasgow.
Fire crews were called to the third-floor flat pm Linkwood Drive, Drumchapel, at around 4.42pm on Monday.
Four fire crews were dispatched, and two people, including a child were rescued using a high-reach ladder and taken to hospital by ambulance.
One dog died at the scene, and three people were given precautionary check-ups by medics.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 4.42pm on Monday, July 10 to reports of a dwelling fire affecting a flat on Linkwood Drive, Glasgow.
“Operations Control mobilised four fire appliances to the scene.
“Crews assisted two casualties using a high-reach ladder and handed them into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
“A further three casualties received precautionary checks. Sadly one dog passed away.
“Crews left at 8.23pm after ensuring the area had been made safe.”
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 4.51pm on Monday to attend an incident on Linkwood Avenue in Drumchapel.
“We dispatched two ambulances and our special operations team to the scene, with the first resource arriving within eight minutes. We transported two patients to hospital, including one child.”
