DJ Mallorca Lee has been given months to live after being told he has terminal cancer.

The 51-year-old Ultra Sonic star broke the news of his diagnosis on social media on Tuesday.

A post on his Facebook page read: “I’ve been diagnosed with terminal cancer, the doctor said it could be a matter of months.

“I apologise for not telling all of my family and friends individually, it just breaks my heart a thousand times and I don’t have the strength to go through it all over and over again.

“I love you all, the last ten years have been the best of them all, it really has been wonderful.

“Forgive me if I don’t answer your calls and messages, I’m still processing, even this post feels like someone else is writing it….

“Love, that’s all we ever really have, our one true currency, so tell the ones around you what they mean to you, every day.”

Mallorca Lee’s post has drawn nearly 3,000 comments from well-wishers.

Clyde One DJ George Bowie wrote: “Can’t imagine what you and the family are going through mate. Absolutely broken by this news.”

One fan commented: “You will always be a legend to so many your family and friends. Glad I got to meet you twice in my life time. Ultra sonic shaped my interest in hardcore and techno from a young age of 12. I’m now 40.”

“I am so heartbroken for you and your beautiful family,” another fan wrote. “Please hold on to the immense joy, fun, smiles and love of music that you have brought to thousands of people all over the world for decades!

“Not many people can say they achieved what you have in their life. You have truly lived. Even though you have much more to give, you have already done much more than most people do in their lives.”

Mallorca Lee formed popular dance act Ultra Sonic in the 1990s, known for their hits Obsession, Love Me Right and Angels before joining Public Domain in 2000.

He left the band to focus on his solo career as a DJ and producer in 2003 and has performed across the world.
