Detectives have launched an investigation following the “suspicious death” of a man in South Ayrshire.

Emergency services were called to a house in Marigold Square, Ayr, at around 4pm on Saturday.

A 34-year-old man was found seriously injured within the property.

Medics attempted to save his life, but he died at the scene.

Police Scotland officers are treating the death as suspicious.

A force spokeswoman said: “Police were called to a house in Marigold Square, Ayr, at around 4pm on Saturday to reports of a 34-year-old man seriously injured inside the property.

“Emergency services attended, however he died at the scene.

“A post-mortem will now be carried out to establish the cause of death.

“Police are treating it as suspicious and enquiries are ongoing”.
