The man was taken to Hairmyres Hospital with a head injury. The woman was uninjured but has been left badly shaken.

The first suspect is around 6ft tall with a heavy build.  He was wearing a black woolly tammy hat, a yellow hi-vis vest, orange gloves and a black scarf across his face to conceal his identity.

Enquiries have revealed a blue coloured SUV vehicle with a black roof was used by the suspects.

Detective Constable Andrew Fearnside said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have seen the suspects or saw a blue coloured SUV type vehicle in the area to contact us.

“Any small piece of information could help us piece together the circumstances of what has happened.  In particular, I would ask motorists with dash cams to check their footage as it could contain images which could assist our enquiries.”

Anyone with information is asked to call CID officers at Cambuslang via 101, quoting incident number 0525 of November 2, 2020.
