Detectives have launched an attempted murder investigation after a man was injured in an attack in Inverclyde.
The 27-year-old victim was taken to hospital following the incident in Castlehill Avenue, Port Glasgow, on Sunday morning.
Officers are appealing for information.
Detective sergeant Jonathan MacKinnon said: “Enquiries are ongoing into the attempted murder of a 27-year-old man in Castlehill Avenue, Port Glasgow, between 6am and 7am on Sunday, March 28.
“The injured man is being treated at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for his injuries.
“Detectives are continuing their enquiries in the area to establish the exact circumstances and are asking anyone with information that will assist their investigation to contact them.”
