Detectives have launched a manhunt after a BMW was torched during an attack in North Lanarkshire.
The blue BMW X5 was targeted in a car park near Millcroft Road, Cumbernauld, at around 10.30pm on Sunday, December 19.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended and extinguished the blaze safely.
There were no reports of any injuries.
The male suspect was described as slim with thick dark hair, in his 20s, around 5ft 8in, and was possibly of eastern European origin.
He was dressed in black and was wearing a sports jacket.
Detective constable David Forde said: “Thankfully nobody was hurt as a result of this reckless act.
“We are looking for the public’s help to try and identify the person involved and anyone with any information is asked to speak to police.
“I would ask anyone who was in the area at the time and who hasn’t already spoken to police, or who saw anyone matching the description above to get in touch.”
