A creepy clown who has been reportedly stalking the streets of an Ayrshire village has posted a message on social media to its ‘terrified’ residents.
Dressed as Pennywise the Clown from Stephen King’s hit horror movie It, the person behind the mask also responded to news reports on a Facebook page under the name Cole Deimos.
Calling themselves the Skelmorlie Clown, the person said it wanted “to play in the sleepy village”.
Shortly before 3am on Thursday, October 12 a video was posted on the Facebook page dubbed “a message to the media”.
The clown, who spoke with their voice altered, said: “Well, well, well, I’ve made the news again.
“Should I smile for the cameras with my ‘hideous’ grin?”
Pictures and videos of the clown posing around the streets of Skelmorlie have also reportedly been uploaded then deleted from social media.
While Police Scotland was said to be aware of the social media posts, the clown, who’s Facebook page was opened in 2021, said: “Do you think that I care? They’d have to catch me first anyway – and yes, that’s a dare.
The clown added: “This clown doesn’t want fame, glory or gold.
“He just wants to play in this so-called ‘sleepy town’. So, come and join in and learn to fear the Skelmorlie clown.”
