A young child was left with facial injuries after being bitten by a dog in Dumfries last week.
The six-year-old was attacked by the unaccompanied dog at Holm Park in Troqueer on Thursday, April 6.
It is understood they had to undergo hospital treatment in Glasgow as a result of the incident.
The dog is described as a small ginger or brown, rough terrier-type breed and may have been wearing a red collar.
Police Scotland is appealing for the public’s help in tracking down the dog and its owner.
A spokesperson for the force said: “If you live in the area or know of the dog, please get in touch with 101 quoting reference PDG0067550423.”
